Lifting a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer?

I have a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer All wheel drive and im trying to lift it 3 -4 inches and put on some bigger tires.. i cant find a lift kit anywhere. Can anyone help with either what to buy or how to do it thanks
