Is there such a thing as chemo once a week for life, following disapearace of tumors in pancreas.?

question regards an aquaintance, that said two years ago that she had two mo to live due to pancreatic cancer, however she did not undergo surgery, or radiation, now says that the cancer has disapreared and she will undergo chemo for the rest of her life every monday, I am sceptial about what she says, as I have had family members that have had cancer , undergone the treatment of chemo, and or radiation, and none of them have to take chemo once a week for life, especially as she says now there is no sign of cancer in her body, I thnk she is out of sympathy, and from my point of view that is an awful way to get it.
