How to mist out paint; is there something I can use around the house without the piant clogging?

I want a mist effect without buying a $30.00-$300.00 spray gun machine. I used a spray bottle and the paint got clogged; someone said to by a empty aerosol can from Walmart that I could'nt find there or lowes. Someone help!
